JOB DETAILS:


Provides guidance for Accelerated VR training program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and the VR community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. Serves as the trainer for the Accelerated VR program curriculum, lesson plans, courses, course content, and media using instructional technologies in collaboration with Instructional Designers and grant project staff. This is a grant funded position ending in July 2029. This position is eligible for full telecommuting with some travel necessary for grant project meetings. Work environment is determined based on the needs of SVRI and the University of Wisconsin - Stout.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum / Required

  • Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, or related fields by employment start date.  
  • Five years' experience working in a public vocational rehabilitation agency.  
  • Knowledge and experience working with people who have disabilities.   
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.    
  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office and familiarity with web-based learning management systems. 
  • Able to travel 3-5 times per year for conferences and meetings

Highly Desired/Preferred

  • Two years of experience as an instructor or trainer on topics related to Vocational Rehabilitation. 
  • Experience developing curriculum and/or training materials.  
  • Experience working with non-traditional learners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

Outreach Program Management and Training

  • Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives. 
  • Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan. 
  • Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures.  
  • Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services.  
  • Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan.  
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees. 
  • Provides pedagogical instruction and participant support in fidelity to grant project goals, objectives, and curriculum standards. 
  • Helps design and develop learning activities, lesson plans, and course content using to foster inclusive and equitable participant experiences and knowledge, skill, and ability acquisition. 
  • Works with grant and campus partners across pre-production, production, and post-production. stages of program development for implementation in courses.  
  • Applies project management principles to course management and instruction within the defined project scope, establishing milestones, and tracking progress.  
  • Reviews courses, media, or other learning products for quality using industry standards and accessibility best practices.  
  • Engages in continuous improvement to enhance the applied use of the core competencies.  
  • Creates and maintains documentation on pedagogy, course delivery, and participant progress.   
  • Implements instructional pedagogy effectively.   
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with grant partners, participants, and other key stakeholders to advance excellence in teaching and learning.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions

  • Work in conjunction with Director of Education to coordinate project deliverables within the grant budget.  
  • Attend virtual SVRI staff meetings, complete required UW-Stout staff training.  
  • Some travel required.
