Facilities Management Temporary SLS Maintenance Mechanic

Facilities Management LTE SLS maintenance mechanic (UW-Stout resident halls)

Employment Dates:  5/5/25 through 8/29/25 - (17 weeks) Prefer full time, part time considered.

Wage Rate:         Up to $18/hour depending on experience and qualifications

Duties:

• Assist with housing building repairs and maintenance tasks
• Assist maintenance mechanic workers in daily work as required
• Complete inspections, daily checks, moving/material handling and other tasks as directed

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Minimum

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to complete minor repairs and troubleshoot issues
• Basic construction, maintenance, farming, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry or electrician skills/experience/knowledge

Preferred

• Ability to follow directions, prioritize and thoroughly complete work
• Be punctual, motivated, hard working and dependable
• Ability to complete various tasks independently and as a team member       
• Good work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, thoroughness and resourcefulness
• Attention to detail and craftsmanship
• State issued driver's license and ability to obtain State of WI driver's authorization

Work/Task Examples:

• Complete preventative maintenance tasks
  • Battery changes
  • Filter changes
  • Equipment lubrication and cleaning
• Minor repairs of furniture
• Lamp/bulb replacements
• Window screen repairs
• Fire extinguisher inspections
• Eyewash inspections
• Remove and replace mini fridge/microwave combination units
• Retrieve tools/materials/supplies and distribute
• Equipment cleaning
