Facilities Management Temporary SLS Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
Facilities Management LTE SLS maintenance mechanic (UW-Stout resident halls)
Employment Dates: 5/5/25 through 8/29/25 - (17 weeks) Prefer full time, part time considered.
Wage Rate: Up to $18/hour depending on experience and qualifications
Duties:
- Assist with housing building repairs and maintenance tasks
- Assist maintenance mechanic workers in daily work as required
- Complete inspections, daily checks, moving/material handling and other tasks as directed
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Minimum
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to complete minor repairs and troubleshoot issues
- Basic construction, maintenance, farming, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry or electrician skills/experience/knowledge
Preferred
- Ability to follow directions, prioritize and thoroughly complete work
- Be punctual, motivated, hard working and dependable
- Ability to complete various tasks independently and as a team member
- Good work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, thoroughness and resourcefulness
- Attention to detail and craftsmanship
- State issued driver's license and ability to obtain State of WI driver's authorization

- Complete preventative maintenance tasks
- Battery changes
- Filter changes
- Equipment lubrication and cleaning
- Battery changes
- Minor repairs of furniture
- Lamp/bulb replacements
- Window screen repairs
- Fire extinguisher inspections
- Eyewash inspections
- Remove and replace mini fridge/microwave combination units
- Retrieve tools/materials/supplies and distribute
- Equipment cleaning
